The Greater Kansas City chapter of the Association of Women Lawyers (AWL) has awarded attorney Alyssa Dockins with its President’s Award for 2025, honoring her volunteer work throughout the year on various AWL projects such as the annual golf tournament.
Alyssa focuses her practice on mass torts litigation. From the firm’s Independence, Mo., office, she represents consumers nationwide who’ve been harmed by dangerous drugs and medical devices. Alyssa has drafted petitions, discovery, responses to discovery, and researched issues and case law relating to current and prospective cases.
While at UMKC Alyssa was active with the Student Bar Association and was the chair of its Barristers Ball. She was a member of the Roo Crew and the Mental Health Week Committee.
AWL was formed in 1976 to advance the role of women in the legal profession. Its membership continues to grow and now includes more than 600 lawyers and judges in the Kansas City area. Members are committed to helping women thrive in the practice of law by providing education, networking, philanthropy and camaraderie opportunities.
