Michael Serra
An experienced litigator in state and federal courts, Michael joined Langdon & Emison in 2015 from the Kansas City defense firm Baker Sterchi Cowden and Rice LLC where he focused his practice in the areas of product liability, premises liability, financial litigation, automotive litigation, and constitutional law litigation.
Michael brings a firm commitment to justice to his work and is passionate about representing individuals who are going up against large corporations. As an associate at Langdon & Emison, Michael plays a key role in all phases of litigation for cases involving defective vehicles and products; electrical shock injuries; railroad accidents; and other instances of negligence.

During his career, Michael has regularly developed and implemented the complete discovery plan for various types of lawsuits, including written discovery, third-party discovery and inspections. He also brings extensive experience preparing witnesses for depositions, conducting depositions and defending depositions of witnesses from corporate representatives to expert witnesses.
Michael was selected in 2020 as a National Trial Lawyers 40 Under 40 honoree, in the category of civil plaintiff’s litigation. He is a licensed member of the Missouri and Kansas bar. In 2012, he was selected for the Missouri Pro Bono Wall of Fame and was named a 2014 “Rising Star” by Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers. In addition, Michael is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
Michael graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review from 2008 through 2009 and participated in the Inn of Court Trial Academy in 2012. Michael earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University where he studied marketing.
