Langdon & Emison sponsored a group of World War II veterans who traveled to to Washington, D.C., recently, to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. This event was part of Honor Flight Kansas City, which is part of the Honor Flight Network.
The organization’s mission is “helping every single veteran in America, willing and able of getting on a plane or a bus, visit their World War II memorial.” Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes — survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit their memorial. The photo at right was taken of five veterans who were sponsored in part by Langdon & Emison. That group effort was coordinated by Operation Rush, which stands for “Runners for Unsung Heroes.” That group of Kansas City area individuals raised an impressive $40,000 for Honor Flight.
In future years, Honor Flight will transition to Korean War, Vietnam War and all other veterans who served, on a chronological basis. The firm was honored to be a small part of this great cause, reconnecting some of America’s heroes with the memorials in our nation’s capital dedicated to their service.
