Missouri Lawyers Weekly has honored Kent Emison with one of its statewide honors for law firm leadership for the 2011 year. As part of its “Lawyers of the Year” program, the publication selected three managing partners of Missouri law firms who had exemplary years leading their respective firms. Kent was the only representative of the plaintiff’s bar within that group.
The “Law Firm Leaders” category is “awarded to a law firm leader (chairman, managing partner, executive) who demonstrated extraordinary vision, innovation and leadership during the year.” Kent was selected for his courtroom success and law profession leadership, as well as his overall management of the firm. During 2011, the firm opened two new offices and added to attorney headcount, while enjoying a record year of verdicts and settlements.
The other two managing partners to receive the Law Firm Leaders award were Russ Welsh of Polsinelli Shughart, and Michael Chivell of Armstrong Teasdale. The awards will formally be presented to them and all the other award winners for 2011 at the Missouri Lawyers Awards luncheon in St. Louis on January 27.
