Langdon & Emison attorney O. Nicole Smith has been honored by the National Trial Lawyers 40 Under 40 for Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers.
Nicole is an integral part of the legal team as her research and writing skills are used to serve her personal injury clients. Nicole researches and drafts petitions and complaints, other pleadings, briefs, and discovery, and also supports the management of the firm’s mass tort dockets.
An active alum of the University of Kansas School of Law, Nicole joined Langdon & Emison in 2018 after clerking for the firm during law school and gaining outstanding experience early in her legal career as a clerk for judges at the state appellate and county levels. Nicole is a graduate of the KCMBA’s Bar Leadership Academy, and remains active in the legal community as a member of several professional organizations including the AWL of Greater Kansas City and the KCMBA. She earned a scholarship from the Lafayette County Bar Association for her excellence as a law student at the University of Kansas, where she served on the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy and was a research assistant for a professor.
According to the NTL, the top lawyers in each state are selected for this list, and are evaluated according to “uniformly applied standards.” Nicole has also been honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly and Super Lawyers as one of the top young civil litigators in Missouri.
