Profile in Mentorship and Service to the Profession Highlighted in UMKC Law Magazine

Missouri Supreme Court judge Zel Fischer was featured in a recent article on his career and leadership in the UMKC Law School alumni magazine. Langdon & Emison attorney Brennan Delaney and firm alum Cory Atkins, now an associate circuit judge in Kansas City, Mo., were featured in the article as young lawyers who have learned in their career from their mentor. From the article:

“The judicial clerks agree; Fischer does everything in his power to create a welcoming learning environment and create a relationship that will last even after they have moved on from the court. “His mentorship is a reflection of how much his own experience shaped him,” says Delaney. “And he does his best to give guidance and do whatever else he can to help all of his former clerks.”

The article talks about Judge Fischer’s humble beginnings and his successful career leading to his current position as a member of the Supreme Court of Missouri. Several Langdon & Emison attorneys likewise graduated from UMKC, and the firm is a proud supporter of the school’s Trial Advocacy program and national-level moot trial competition team.
